Do you need to prepare the floor first?

Almost always. LVT is thin and shows up any unevenness, so we level and smooth the subfloor before fitting. Good preparation is the difference between a floor that looks flawless and one that shows every lump.

What's the difference between LVT and laminate?

LVT (luxury vinyl tile) is fully waterproof, warmer and quieter underfoot than laminate, and copes far better in bathrooms and kitchens. Laminate can swell if water gets into the joints, which is why we usually recommend LVT for wet or busy rooms.

We smooth and level the subfloor with the right products so the finished surface is perfectly flat, then set the planks out to run with the light and the longest line of the room. Cuts around doorways, units and pipework are done carefully so the joins disappear.
